HeroPose (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates the HeroPose mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
• Photos: When you use HeroPose, you upload or take photos to transform into superhero images. These photos are processed by our AI service to generate your superhero image.
Information Collected Automatically
• Anonymous Identifier: We assign a random, anonymous identifier to your device when you first use the App. This is not linked to your name, email, or any personal information.
• App Usage Data: We collect anonymous usage data such as which features you use, generation counts, and app performance metrics to improve the App.
• Device Information: Basic device information (device model, OS version) for crash reporting and compatibility.
• Install Date: We record when you first installed the App to manage your free trial period.
What we do NOT collect: We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personally identifiable information. We do not require you to create an account or sign in. We do not access your contacts, location, or browsing history.
2. How We Use Your Photos
• Processing: Your photos are compressed and sent to Google’s Gemini AI service via our secure servers to generate superhero transformations.
• On-Device Generation: On supported iPhones (iPhone 15 Pro and later with iOS 18.4+), you can generate images entirely on your device using Apple Intelligence. These photos never leave your device.
• No Permanent Storage: Your photos are processed in real-time and are not permanently stored on our servers or Google’s servers after the transformation is complete.
• Local Storage: Generated images are stored locally on your device in the App’s gallery. You control this data and can delete any image at any time.

Third-Party AI Services — Detailed Disclosure
HeroPose uses third-party artificial intelligence services to generate superhero images and videos. Before any data is sent, the App displays a consent screen explaining what data will be shared and with whom. You must explicitly agree before any processing occurs.
Image Generation — Google Gemini AI
• What is sent: Your uploaded photo (compressed to JPEG format, max 2048px) along with a text description of the superhero transformation you selected.
• Who receives it: Google’s Gemini AI service (gemini-2.5-flash-image model), accessed via secure HTTPS through our Firebase Cloud Functions.
• How it is used: Google Gemini processes your photo solely to generate the superhero image transformation. The photo is not stored after processing.
Video Generation — xAI (Grok)
• What is sent: Your generated superhero image (not your original photo) along with a dance style description.
• Who receives it: xAI’s Grok Imagine Video service, accessed via secure HTTPS through our Firebase Cloud Functions.
• How it is used: xAI processes the superhero image solely to generate a 6-second dance video. The image is not stored after processing.
On-Device Generation — Apple Intelligence
• When you use Basic mode on a supported device (iPhone 15 Pro or later with iOS 18.4+), your photo is processed entirely on your device using Apple Intelligence.
• No data is sent to any external server during on-device generation.
Your Consent
• Before any data is sent to Google Gemini AI or xAI, HeroPose displays a consent screen clearly explaining what data will be shared and with whom.
• You must tap “I Understand, Continue” before any processing occurs.
• If you decline, no data is sent and you can continue using on-device features.
4. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
• We offer a weekly subscription ($4.99/week) and consumable Diamond packs through the Apple App Store.
• All payment processing is handled by Apple. We do not collect or store your payment information.
• Purchase history is managed by RevenueCat using your anonymous device identifier.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings.
5. Children’s Privacy
HeroPose is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
The App is designed for parents and adults to create superhero images of themselves, their children, or other family members. If you are a parent using the App to transform photos of your children, you are providing consent for the processing of those photos as described in this policy. Photos are processed by AI and are not permanently stored on our servers.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at support@heropose.com and we will promptly delete it.
6. Data Security
• Server-Side Processing: All AI API calls are routed through our secure servers. API keys are stored in Google Secret Manager and never exposed in the App.
• No Client-Side Keys: Your device never directly communicates with AI services. All requests go through our authenticated backend.
• Fraud Prevention: We use Apple’s DeviceCheck to prevent abuse of free credits. This uses hardware-level device tokens and does not collect personal information.
• Encryption: All data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard TLS/SSL.
7. Data Retention
• Photos: Not permanently stored on our servers. Processed in real-time and discarded after transformation.
• Generated Images: Stored locally on your device. Deleted when you remove them from the gallery or uninstall the App.
• Anonymous Identifier: Retained in our systems for account and purchase management. Can be deleted upon request.
• Analytics Data: Aggregated usage data retained for up to 14 months for product improvement.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy in the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
